Philips McCarty

On any given day, you can find Phil in the office, on a plane or calling in with new ideas to help a cause build its brand awareness, integrate its communications plan, ignite its fundraising or streamline its organization. That’s Phil’s passion. Phil founded McCarty Partners, now Cause Innovation (CI), in 2006. As managing director, he now leads cause marketing strategy development for our growing list of national nonprofit and corporate clients and remains actively involved with each CI client.

Phil’s unique career experience brings a level of client-side insight and sensitivity rare to the cause marketing industry. Having led successful cause marketing and branding campaigns for both non-profits and corporations, Phil has first-hand knowledge of the challenges facing each on a daily basis. As vice president of corporate alliances for ALSAC/St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, Phil launched the organization’s first corporate marketing division and directed the nationally renowned brand awareness and fundraising campaign, Thanks and Giving in 2004 and 2005. At ALSAC, he was responsible for leading the corporate alliance initiatives including cause marketing campaign development, sponsorship, workplace giving and merchandise marketing.

As an advertising and public relations account director for FedEx, Doubletree Hotels and Entergy Corporation, as well as an array of regional and national nonprofits, Phil helped create cost-effective, fresh cause marketing and community outreach campaigns. It’s that kind of knowledge that has helped Phil raise millions for the cause marketing initiatives of Fortune 500 companies and the charities they support.

In addition to his passionate work for CI clients, Phil serves as a national speaker on the topic of cause marketing, and has been an adjunct professor of marketing communications and public relations.
